GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 Service Above Self In Action: Swift Relief For Kapitolyo Fire Victims By: PP Roderick Alexis Lindayag When disaster strikes, action cannot wait. On Wednesday, July 29, a devastating fire swept through Interior Rosemarie Lane in Brgy. Kapitolyo, Pasig City, displacing over 400 families and leaving more than 1,400 individuals in urgent need of assistance. True to our core values, the Rotary Club of QC Big Bike Riders immediately geared up to answer the call for help. On Friday, July 31, our club mobilized a swift and effective Disaster Relief Operation. In strong partnership with the Philippine Airlines Foundation and the International Fellowship of Motorcycling Rotarians Philippines Chapter (IFMR-PH), our volunteers brought essential aid directly to the heart of the affected community. Care packages designed to offer immediate relief, comfort, and dignity were distributed directly to impacted residents. The turn- over included vital essentials: Rest & Comfort: Cozy neck pillows and warm blankets Basic Needs: Clean clothing items Health & Wellness:Hygiene kits to ensure safe and sanitary conditions Brgy. Captain Alex Torres, alongside local barangay officials and community members, warmly received our contingent. They expressed profound gratitude for the rapid deployment and unwavering solidarity demonstrated during one of their most challenging moments. This joint relief effort highlights the powerful impact of strategic collaboration and dedicated service. It serves as a striking reminder that as Rotarians and riders, our mission extends far beyond the open road—we ride with purpose, compassion, and a commitment to helping our neighbors rebuild.
